This urban infill project for developer Carleton Management has become the first California branch of Denver based restaurant, Snooze Eatery. The restaurant is located along the busy Hillcrest Fifth Avenue corridor in San Diego. Public's building design on Fifth Avenue offers a welcoming glow of morning sunlight with floor to ceiling east facing roll-up windows, two story interior ceiling, spirit lifting skylights and a distinctive fink truss. Exterior dining space is provided by the building setback and fenced sidewalk frontage. With generous natural light, this signature space is rife with architectural details prompting ownership to call this “the best design for Snooze yet” and creative reference to “a breakfast cathedral”. The project has been nominated for an Orchid Award at this years San Diego 2012 event. Please visit the Orchids and Onions website for more information.
